Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • The manuscript complies with ethical standards of research and publication, and any potential conflicts of interest have been disclosed.
  • All authors have read and approved the submitted version of the manuscript and agree with its submission to this journal.
  • The manuscript is original, has not been submitted elsewhere, and does not contain plagiarized material.
  • Data supporting the findings of this study are included in the manuscript or provided as supplementary files, where applicable.

Author Guidelines

  1. Submission Policy

Submission of a manuscript to the Global Journal of Social and Economic Research (GJSER) confirms that the work is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. All listed authors must have approved the submission and agree to its publication.

GJSER accepts manuscripts previously shared as preprints, presented at academic conferences, or circulated in non-journal formats (such as working papers or institutional repositories). Upon acceptance, authors are required to update any existing preprint versions with the full journal citation and DOI once available.

  1. Publication Ethics and Plagiarism

GJSER maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism. All submitted manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening using professional plagiarism-detection software prior to peer review.

Plagiarism, including unattributed copying, self-plagiarism, data fabrication, or manipulation, will result in immediate rejection. Ethical compliance is expected from authors, reviewers, and editors throughout the publication process.

  1. Peer Review and Editorial Process

All submissions are subject to a double-blind peer review process.

Paper Handling Procedure

  • The manuscript undergoes an initial editorial screening.
  • Suitable manuscripts are sent to expert reviewers.
  • The review process typically takes 4–8 weeks.
  • Authors receive a decision (acceptance, revision, or rejection).
  • Accepted manuscripts must be revised using the GJSER template.
  • Final proofs are sent to authors for approval prior to publication.
  1. Language Policy

GJSER accepts manuscripts written in English, Turkish, Pashto, and Persian. Authors are responsible for ensuring linguistic clarity and academic quality. Consistent spelling conventions should be used throughout the manuscript.

  1. Manuscript Length
  • Preferred length: 4,000–10,000 words, including references
  • Shorter or longer submissions may be considered based on content quality
  1. Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts must be prepared using Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) and submitted through the journal’s online system.

Page Layout

  • Paper size: A4
  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
  • Line spacing: 1.5
  • Pages must be numbered
  1. Title Page

The title page must be submitted separately and include:

  • Title of the manuscript (clear, concise, and informative; max. 15 words)
  • Author names
  • Affiliations (institution, city, country)
  • Corresponding author (clearly indicated with email address)
  1. Abstract and Keywords

Abstract

A structured abstract of 150–250 words is required. It should briefly describe:

  • Research objective
  • Methodology
  • Key findings
  • Main conclusions

References should be avoided in the abstract.

Keywords

Provide 4–6 keywords immediately after the abstract. Avoid overly general terms and unnecessary abbreviations.

  1. Structure of the Main Text

Manuscripts should be organized into clearly numbered sections, such as:

  1. Introduction
  2. Literature Review
  3. Methodology
  4. Results / Findings
  5. Discussion (this section may be presented separately or combined with the Results/Findings section)
  6. Conclusion

Subsections should follow a logical numbering system (e.g., 1.1, 1.1.1).

  1. Tables and Figures

Tables

  • Must be created using Word table tools (not images)
  • Numbered consecutively (Table 1, Table 2, etc.)
  • Captioned above the table
  • Cited in the text

Figures

  • High-quality images (minimum 300 dpi)
  • Inserted at appropriate locations in the text
  • Captioned below the figure
  • Cited as Figure 1, Figure 2, etc.
  1. Mathematical Expressions

Equations should be clearly presented and formatted consistently with the main text. Symbols and variables must be defined where they first used.

  1. Acknowledgements

Acknowledgements, funding sources, and sponsorship information should appear after the main text and before the references.

  1. References

GJSER follows the APA (7th Edition) referencing style.

  • All references cited in the text must appear in the reference list
  • References should be listed alphabetically
  • Multiple works by the same author in the same year should be labeled (a, b, c)

Authors are encouraged to include DOI links where available (https://doi.org/xxxxx)

  1. Glossary (Optional)

If technical terminology is used extensively, authors may include a glossary after the reference list.

  1. Appendices

Appendices should be used sparingly and labeled sequentially (Appendix A, Appendix B).

Authors retain full copyright of their published work while granting the Global Journal of Social and Economic Research (GJSER) the right of first publication. Authors may reuse, share, archive, and distribute their articles after publication, provided that appropriate citation to the journal is given.

GJSER assigns Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to published articles and may archive content in indexing services, databases, and repositories to enhance visibility and accessibility.

Privacy Statement
