Abstract

This study aims to examine the quality of academic literature produced on Turkish language education in Afghanistan from a critical perspective, focusing on three sample articles selected from the DergiPark database. Within the scope of the research, the articles titled "Afghanistan’s Language Policy and History of Turkish Language Education in Afghanistan" (2016), "Turkish Language and Education in Afghanistan" (2015), and "Turkish Language Education in Afghanistan" (2018) were analyzed based on the criteria of formal diligence, methodological consistency, and content validity. In this study, which utilizes the document analysis technique—one of the qualitative research methods—it was found that the reviewed articles contain serious weaknesses regarding basic academic writing standards (APA 7), chronological consistency, and the use of primary sources. In particular, substantive historical errors, terminological inaccuracies, and deficiencies in citation discipline emerge as key factors undermining the scientific reliability of the existing knowledge in the field. By presenting these identified chronic issues through concrete data, the study aims to both draw attention to information pollution in the current literature and provide a standard-setting methodological framework for future research.
